She made porn in the 70s and appeared in porn magazines. The time of the punk and alternative movement had begun. In 1976, Cosey founded the experimental music and performance group Throbbing Gristle (TG) together with Genesis P-Orridge, Chris Carter and Peter Christopherso. From the radical project one of the first successful alternative record labels developed: Industrial Records (IR) and thus gave a name to a whole group of musicians: Industrial Music. The group published its concert recordings, studio recordings and videotapes in a personal union and gave suggestions for many successor bands. After her opening as lead guitarist with Throbbing Gristle, who disbanded after a last concert on May 29, 1981 in San Francisco, Cosey appearedtogether with Chris Carter (now also a couple privately) as Chris & Cosey , who climbed the charts with melodic synth pop. In addition to musical projects, Cosey Fanni Tutti has won her racing oeuvre with art and painting in numerous international exhibitions, but her attachment to Throbbing Gristle has remained: In 2004, after 23 years, the four original members had a surprising reunion. Cosey was born in Hull, England in 1951. Tutti has produced music, video and multi-media artworks. She has contributed to international art, music exhibitions, festivals, film and T.V. soundtracks. In 1976 she co-founded Throbbing Gristle and the label Industrial music with Chris Carter, Peter Christopherson and Gensis P-Orridge. In 1981 she began working with Chris Carter as CTI and Chris & Cosey producing music and video. Often working naked in her performance pieces, she investigated the world of sex magazines, film , modeling and striptease from 1973 to 1984. Her experiences were brought into her work as she explored the many levels of sex as it is perceived and presented as a commercial product. She represented a much desired freedom for women to express themselves sexually without guilt or preconceived ideas of "beauty." In 1994, the composition of the CTI musical piece CHRONOMANIC brought together Cosey's work in all fields: music, a reproduction of one of Cosey's encaustic paintings for the CD cover and a short video commissioned for the Sonar festival.
